You eat food when you feel hungry. Do you know the relation between your brain and your gut? It is well known as the gut-brain axis.
This gut-brain axis is a two-directional communication between the central nervous system of the brain and the enteric nervous system of the gut., linking the emotional and cognitive centers of the brain with the peripheral intestinal functions.
This gut-brain axis controls appetite and satiety with the help of neuronal and hormonal signals.
Leptin and ghrelin are the two main hormones that control appetite and satiety.
Leptin is known as the satiety hormone and ghrelin is known as the hunger hormone.
When your stomach becomes empty and feels hungry it sends a single to the brain to produce the ghrelin hormone and let your body realize that you are hungry and you need to intake food that is full of good nutrition like good carbohydrates, protein, fat, fibers, vitamins, and minerals.
When you get full while eating and feel satiety. Your fat cells which are present in the stomach secret the hormone leptin and this hormone sends single to your brain to stop eating.
It is also important to eat at specific time intervals so that your body can work properly. Binge eating habits confuse the body's mechanism and physiology. Later a long time, it leads to indigestion, obesity, diabetes, and many other fatal diseases and it also reduces life expectancy. Eat healthy food like Rice, pulses, green vegetables, beans, eggs, fatty fish, lean meat milk, etc.
