Day by day we get more females prone to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in recent modern times females are doing multitasking work. She is not only looking after her family members she also works in the professional and technical fields. Most of the time the females don't have time to look after themselves and take of their own health. Every day she handles the stress in her personal and professional life and hence her cortisol level is always elevated on the higher side. Cortisol is the main stress hormone and high levels of cortisol in the body interrupt the metabolism and invite a disease in the body.

Stress could be one of the main reasons contributing the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and not taking preventive measures can worsen the disease more. It is also a complex and multifactorial phenomenon with several contributing factors.

  1. Lifestyle Factors: As we are in the modern science era we have excess to ease our work by taking the help of technology or hiring a person to get the work done for us Like going to the nearby shop we have two options we can walk and we can use a vehicle to get the work done. but obviously, most of us choose to take the vehicle. Practicing these habits makes us lead sedentary behavior, apart from this we have poor dietary habits like eating processed food and sugary food, and we are eating food anytime without thinking about the circadian rhythm of the body, and high-stress levels, which can contribute to the development and exacerbation of PCOS. These factors can influence insulin resistance, hormonal imbalance, hypertension, and overall metabolic health.

  2. Obesity Global Epidemic: Every day the number of obese people increasing and it is an alarming sign for a human to understand what is wrong is going around to them. and why they are becoming sick so often. Global rise in obesity rates is strongly associated with an increased prevalence of PCOS. Obesity is a risk factor in females. Because gaining an unnecessary and sudden weight gain is directly linked with hormonal imbalance for insulin resistance, all of which are linked to PCOS.

  3. Environmental Factors: Exposure to certain environmental factors, using a plastic bottle for a drink, and reusing it again and again. Using nonstick pans and BPA-coated utensils for cooking. They leach the chemicals in food and eating this food contributes to an endocrine disturbance. Which has been suggested as a possible contributor to hormonal imbalances and the development of PCOS. Also using chemical-based cosmetics etc.

  4. Genetic Factor: There is a genetic component to PCOS, and individuals with a family history of the condition may be more prone to developing it. Along with this the wrong food habits and sedentary lifestyle can influence disease on set before the time and environmental factors may interact with genetic predispositions to influence the development of PCOS.

  5. Hormonal Birth Control Pills Usage: The use of hormonal birth control pills, which are again made up of synthetic hormones, and taking it for a long time influences the hormonal changes in the body later it manifests into PCOS or infertility. While helping and managing the symptoms of PCOS doctors recommend this OCP (oral contraceptive pills), which may also mask the underlying hormonal imbalances associated with PCOS. Discontinuation of birth control may reveal PCOS symptoms. Making changes in diet and lifestyle can help reverse PCOS.

It's important to note that PCOS is a complex and heterogeneous condition, and its causes can vary among individuals. The interplay of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors makes it challenging to pinpoint a single cause for the rising prevalence.

Preventive measures and early intervention, such as lifestyle modifications, maintaining a healthy weight, and managing stress, can be important in addressing the risk factors associated with PCOS. Seeking guidance from healthcare professionals for personalized care and management is crucial for individuals with PCOS. Because everybody is unique and it requires a unique approach for everyone.
